Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) opens a vacancy for the position of the MHPSS Program Manager

The Program Manager will ensure that MHPSS projects are implemented according to work plans and budgets and ensure timely information management and reporting.

The MHPSS Project Manager is responsible for the following tasks:

Project Management (60%)

  • Іn charge of establishing and maintaining an effective program management set-up and ensuring progress follows project documents, log frame, budget, activity plans, and donor requirements.
  • Provide project management guidance and support to the operational team in planning, implementation, monitoring & revisions.
  • Oversees the ECHO project, including deadlines, indicators, and budget.
  • Provides support to the ECHO program officer.
  • Coordinate and lead regular progress meetings of the operational team to ensure projects’ progress is on track.
  • Consolidate and coordinate all input to prepare final external reports, including quality assurance per Standard Operational Procedures and donor regulations.
  • Feed into reports written by the DRC MHPSS project coordinator on the project requirements.
  • Monitor implementation of Minimum Standards on PGI and MHPSS.

Program Development (10%)

  • Contribute to the development of project ideas and concepts together with the MHPSS Unit team and partners on MHPSS
  • Contribute to stakeholder mappings, networking, and identifying new funding opportunities
  • Lead needs assessment and formalization of context analysis
  • Coordinate and develop project documents and proposals

Monitoring and Evaluation (10%)

  • Monitor budget expenditures in close cooperation with Finance Officer regularly
  • Track and provide regular updates on project indicators, working closely with PMEL teams
  • Develop necessary monitoring tools and oversee their usage
  • Regularly visit project sites to oversee the quality implementation.
  • Provide regular updates to URCS MHPSS Unit and DRC

Coordination, information, and communication (20%)

  • Line manager to ECHO program officer
    Co-lead coordination meetings with the DRC MHPSS coordinator
  • Communicate regularly with other Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies working on the project
  • Coordinate regularly with the MHPSS Operational coordinator and operational team.
  • Coordinate regularly with colleagues within the MHPSS Unit and with relevant teams within URCS

The tasks and responsibilities above are incomplete and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

The MHPSS Project Manager is expected to act according to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and to endorse and respect the Code of Conduct and URCS Protection Policies and regulations at any time.

Qualification requirements

  • Degree in project management or mental health-related field (psychology, social work, or another related field) OR at least one year of working experience in the humanitarian field.
  • Three years of project management experience in the humanitarian or development sector
  • Previous experience in cooperation with governmental institutions and European Union’s supported programs would be an asset
  • English is a must.
