Swiss TPH шукає Specialist in emergency preparedness and & International Health Regulations

Swiss TPH seeks a specialist in emergency preparedness and & International Health Regulations in order to to provide technical support to the USAID “Public Health System Recovery & Resilience Activity” (“Project”), which is to strengthen national preparedness and response to infectious disease and other public health threats and to increase capacity to perform essential public health operations and respond to public health threats at the regional level.

Main purpose of consultancy/technical support

• Development of regulatory documents in the field of emergency preparedness and response;
• Providing technical consultations on project activities in the field of emergency preparedness based on international standards and current best practices and scientific data.
• Provide consultation in the implementation of the priority areas of work identified by the IHR, which include, but are not limited to, emergency preparedness and response.
• Providing consultations on the implementation of crisis communication mechanisms in emergency situations.
• Provide technical consultations at the national level on the development and implementation of preparedness and response plans for various public health threats in emergency situations.
• Create clear SOPs for regional and national Rapid Response Teams.
• Participate in the development of programs and/or trainings for national and regional staff in responding to various types of public health threats (including theoretical and practical training through simulation exercises).

Ensure proper reporting on the set targets in accordance with the project requirements

Period of performance: February 2024 – December 2024

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university in medicine (epidemiology), public health, social work, public policy, health and human services, or a related field is required
• At least 5 years’ experience as an emergency preparedness and response expert within Ukraine or within a European context
• Experience in developing and/or implementing training activities in the area of emergency preparedness and response
• Solid understanding of the Ukrainian Public Health landscape and the different actors and stakeholders involved
• Capacity to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, from community members up to high level officials and international experts
• Respect to professional, research and ethical codes of conduct
• Respect to personal and community diversities, of all types
• Capacity to identify critical barriers within current emergency response processes and come up with solutions to overcome these barriers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments and work with and between different stakeholders
• Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and consensus building
• Fluency in Ukrainian (literate oral and written communications) and ability to understand written materials in English
• Focus on results, strong teamwork and communication skills, and interest in continuous professional development.
