Position Summary

Momentum Wheels for Humanity seeks an AT Cabinet Direction Consultant to lead AT activities in the network of Strengthening Rehabilitation Services in Health Systems Project. Those activities are related to planning, design, implementation, supervision, expansion/development, administration, and establishment of AT cabinets in healthcare facilities with a focus on AT in the domain of mobility and self-care. AT Cabinet Direction Consultant will be closely cooperating with international AT consultants who will support the implementation of project activities. Only candidates with work authorization in Ukraine will be considered; relocation benefits will not be provided. AT Cabinet Direction Consultant should be based in Lviv with regular travels in Ukraine.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities  

Reporting to the Country Director, the AT Cabinet Direction Consultant will have the following responsibilities:  

• Organizational, methodological, and technical support for training for rehabilitation specialists of health care institutions on individual selection, adjustment, and training in the use of AT. 
• Organizational, methodological, and technical support for training for rehabilitation specialists of health care institutions on the management of the functioning of assistive technology cabinets and the process of providing assistive technology.
• Organizing and conducting supervision of rehabilitation specialists of health care facilities together with international and Ukrainian experts on the selection, adjustment, manufacture, and use of technical and other means of rehabilitation. 
• Forming, together with the MWH team, a vision for the creation of AT cabinets in designated healthcare facilities based on national legislation and best international practices.
• Provide recommendations on the establishment of the AT cabinet in the rehabilitation department of persons with SCI and providing it with the appropriate equipment, providing methodological and technical support to specialists.
• Coordinating and providing recommendations to optimize the work of the AT cabinet in the rehabilitation department of persons with SCI and promotion of experience exchange with international partners. 
• Support and coordination of the international consultant in the development of a manual on the functioning of the AT cabinet.
• Lead establishment of 8 AT cabinets in health care facilities based on formed vision of their operationalization.
• Coordinate delivery of APs, equipment, and tools, and their setup for establishment of AT cabinets in cooperation with MWH and healthcare facilities.
• Coordination with representatives of health care institutions to equip the AT cabinet with equipment and assistive devices for the selection, adjustment, manufacture, and training in the use of technical and other rehabilitation devices that will improve the mobility of the patient/client. 
• Providing methodological recommendations to representatives of health care institutions on the arrangement and functioning of the AT cabinet. 
• Forming, together with the MWH team, a vision for the activities of preclinical practice rooms for physical therapists based on national legislation and best international practices
• Coordination, organization, and assistance in the formation of communication channels for the provision of assistive devices to patients of healthcare facilities with disorders who have mobility impairments.
• Assistance in involving clinical supervisors of health care facilities in training that will take place in higher education institutions.
• Participate in the implementation and facilitate different Momentum activities in the AT field.
• Provide recommendations for the procurement list for the workshop to be established in the healthcare facility. 
• Provide support in creating and equipping a workshop in a healthcare facility. 
• Providing practical recommendations for creating a workshop in a healthcare facility. 
• Conduct on-site supervision during the establishment and operation of the workshop in the healthcare facility. 
• Provide inputs to monthly, quarterly, and/or ad hoc donor and internal reports, ensuring that reporting is accurate and timely.
• Attend coordination meetings that are relevant to AT activities and MWH staff.
• Attend or represent MWH as needed in meetings with healthcare providers as needed.
• Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of MWH. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the rehabilitation field, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or master`s degree in health policy, global health, or health system and/or in the relevant field of study 
• At least five years of clinical or educational practice as a rehab specialist
• Experience, general awareness, and understanding of assistive devices and assistive technology
• Experience, general awareness, and understanding of the provision of different kinds of AT
• Previous experience in AT provision
• Excellent analytical skills and reporting skills
• Ability to set clear goals and manage progress toward them
• Ability to work well independently and with a team
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
• Detail-oriented with good organization and prioritization skills
• Written and spoken fluency in Ukrainian.
• At least an intermediate level of English.
