Background
The USAID/Ukraine Harvest Activity enables supported male and female grain and oilseed farmers, including marginalized and underserved groups, to return production and income for target commodities to at least pre-war levels while improving production efficiency and profitability and position farmers to market their crops more successfully and profitably in the wartime context.
Position Description:
The Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services for the USAID Harvest Activity project team, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of personnel, materials, and documents. The Driver is also responsible for maintaining the project vehicle in optimal condition, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and maintenance protocols, and facilitating communication by delivering documents and packages as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the assigned vehicle (e.g., car) following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Plan and determine the most efficient and safe routes for each trip, considering traffic, weather, and road conditions.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking oil levels, tire pressure, and fuel levels before every journey.
- Provide safe and comfortable transport for project staff, visitors, and materials, assisting with boarding, disembarking, and handling luggage or cargo as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Deliver documents, packages, and correspondence in a timely and efficient manner.
- Interact professionally with passengers and clients, providing excellent customer service when required.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or accidents, including contacting emergency services, providing first aid if necessary, and ensuring passenger or cargo safety.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, incidents, or accidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Support other logistical and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid B license.
- Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Good physical condition, capable of handling tasks that may involve heavy lifting or extended hours of driving.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations preferred but not required.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in Ukrainian. English basic level is required.

This position is based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
