Background
The USAID Harvest Activity enables supported male and female grain and oilseed farmers, including marginalized and underserved groups, to return production and income for target commodities to at least pre-war levels while improving production efficiency and profitability and position farmers to market their crops more successfully and profitably in the wartime context. Ukraine Harvest will focus on five target commodities: barley, corn, soybean, sunflower, and wheat. In connection to the overall goals, Ukraine Harvest has three primary objectives:
Objective 1: Profitable, Climate-Smart, Market-Oriented Production Expanded
Objective 2: Farmers’ Access to Profitable Markets Improved
Objective 3: Market System Efficiency and Inclusiveness Improved
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is committed to advancing communication efforts that effectively represent its work and reforms. As part of this mission, it requires expertly crafted content that maintains a consistent and professional tone across all communication platforms. To address this need, the Ministry seeks a Writer and Content Editor who will create, edit, and revise a wide range of communication materials to enhance the Ministry’s public image and ensure coherence in its messaging.
Position Description:
The Writer and Content Editor will work closely with the Senior Communications Officer and the Press Service of the Ministry to produce high-quality written materials. The incumbent will be responsible for drafting, editing, and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of content across various platforms, aligning with the Ministry’s objectives.
Responsibilities:
The Writer and Content Editor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Create, edit, and revise diverse communication products, including but not limited to correspondence, speeches, factsheets, talking points, opinions, forewords, web articles, and social media texts.
- Conduct desk research of relevant materials, including those produced by the Ministry and other organizations, in consultation with substantive units and staff.
- Edit and proofread documents prepared by the press service and departmental staff, ensuring accurate spelling, acronyms, and abbreviations.
- Perform additional research and coordinate with relevant staff as needed for drafting and editing tasks.
- Ensure that all written work is original, authentic, and appropriately cited and/or referenced.
- Support additional writing tasks related to the communications of the press service as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or graduate degree in communication, journalism, public relations, international relations, or related disciplines.
- At least two years of professional experience in writing and content development for international organizations, companies, or media outlets.
- Strong proficiency in editing and proofreading written materials.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of the English language is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and related tools.

This position is based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Salary
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
